Summary:
The Pietet-Spengler reaction of L-tryptophan methyl ester hydrobromide with aldehyde was studied. The reaction was induced by a crystal process and a series of 1,3-second-generation -1,2,3, 4-tetrahydro-β-carboline compounds were synthesized with high stereoselectivity. Its structure was characterized by 1HNMR,IR,MS and elemental analysis.
